Una digressione da WeDo ma sempre una creazione con Lego!

Dado a dieci facce

Cercando nel web ho trovatodelle domande da una scuola italiana che sperimenta WeDo

Una delle domande era quale fosse l'intervallo di numeri genarato dal dado WeDo (random input)-la risposta è da 1 a 10 (Teacher Guide of the activity pack page 4)

Ma questa non è la parte interessante, infatti la scuola ha cercato con i bambini la soluzione ed un modo è lanciare il dado WeDo tante volte e guardarne il risultato sullo schermo (vedi programmino nel post), dopo poco ci si convince che non  supera mail il 10.

Un'altra idea per stimolare i bambini è chidere loro se questo dado WeDo è come il dado che conoscon0, anche qui ovviamente non lo è ma la cosa che li può incuriosire è che esiste un dado vero come quello del programma e si può anche costruirlo in classe-

Troverete un modello da stampare ritagliare e costruire (il sito ha copyright ma è indicato esplicitamente che il materiale si può usare a patto che non ci sia scopo di lucro).  

questo è un caso interessante come da una domanda all'apparenza banale si aprano orizzonti inaspettati solo facednosi guidare dalla curiosità-

Browsing the web I found some quetions from an italian school experimentig WeDo (ref the italian site http://trilussa.primocircolopinerolo.it/egw/wiki/index.php?page=DancingBirds)

One of the question is how is the range of the number in the pseudo-random input. Actually the answer is from 1 to 10 (is in the Teacher Guide of the activity pack page 41).

This is not interesting in itself infact they worked with the children to find the solution and on way is to try to "launch" the WeDo dice with a program like the one showed in this post.

Another idea to stimulate children on the subject is to ask them if the wedo dice is like a real one (6 faces dice) the answer is obviusly not but what is interesting is that exists real dices from 1 to 10 and the children can also build one !

Here you find a model that you can print cut and build (Note the site is copyrighte but is explicitly said material can be used if not for commercial reason, so scholo sand home can use it).

This case is interesting because shows how from a question that seems simple an entire universe open just trying to find the answer.
